Activities

Youth Activities:  Each year we run a number of events for young people in Chippenham, a number of these offer the opportunity to progress to national finals. These include; Young Chef, Youth Speaks, Young Photographer, Young Musician, Young Citizen and Young Writer.

We also actively promote Interact, which is Rotary’s International’s service club for young people between the ages of 14 and 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting

In addition, each year we sponsor two local students on the one week Rotary Youth Leadership Programme and also one local athlete. Liaising with other Rotary Clubs overseas, Chippenham Rotary also assist in the arrangement of short term youth exchange programmes.”

We organise a large bonfire and firework display at Monkton Park in central Chippenham for the local community every November. This professionally organised event attracts a large audience from a wide area, and as well a presenting a fantastic display, this is an ideal means of raising money for our local and international charities.

Annual Charity Horse Ride. We organise a Charity Horse Ride in October of each year which raises money for good causes supported by Rotary and which attracts riders from Wiltshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire and South Wales. Riders enjoy exclusive access to a route through the Spye Park, Bowood and Whetham Estates, which is normally closed to public use. The route then climbs onto Roundway Down before descending to the finish in Spye.

We assist with taking a Life Education trailer around to local schools.

We take the Children of St Nicholas School to our District 1200 'Kids Out' event held at Longleat each June.
