Two years ago the Rotary Club of Chippenham celebrated 100 years of the foundation of The Rotary Movement and our Rotary Club decided that they would take on a major project this developed into the building of a hydrotherapy pool for the disabled children of St Nicholas School, Malmesbury Road, Chippenham. The appeal was named as 'Snap': St. Nicholas school Appeal for a Pool and we became a registered charity.

Our objective is to raise £550,000 to build a quality hydrotherapy pool for the children of the school and also out of school hours make it available to the local community via perhaps the NHS or other medical body. To date we have raised well over £160,000 by way of concerts, attending county shows, fetes, car boot sales and appealing to the local community. We are now looking towards the National Lottery & Children in Need for the larger donation but the local push for funds must continue.

Two committees were formed; the first was the executive committee which is responsible for planning applications, architects and building plans and the second is the fundraising committee. Planning permission for the pool has been granted.

Our Patron for the Charity is Amanda Parr the BBC local news reader and presenter. She has been first class in attending events and is well known by the local community. She also brings along the expertise of the BBC.

A full programme of fund raising events has been arranged and details can be seen by following the links from this page. Donations may be made to the 'Snap' Appeal via the Just Giving website.
